Norman Pattiz has founded one of the United States largest providers in the entertainment, news, sports, traffic and talk in the radio industry.
Courtside Entertainment Group was founded and launched in 2010. Pattiz seen so many opportunities within the radio industry that he acted on it. PodcastOne was launched at the end of the year in 2012. The company was a huge success and became the main distributor in audio programming. PodcastOne features a lot of celebrities such as Chris Jericho, Steve Austin, Shaquille O’Neal, and countless others.
When President Clinton was in office, he appointed Norman Pattiz to serve on the Broadcasting Board of Governors in 2000. He was appointed again in 2002 by President Bush. Pattiz’s responsibilities included launching the U.S. Arabic language radio and TV to more than 20 countries in the Middle East.
Norman Pattiz was initiated into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 2009. He was awarded the Giants Broadcasting Award by the Library of American Broadcasting. He currently serves on the board as Chairman of the Lawrence Livermore and Los Alamos National Laboratories. Pattiz holds the title of Regent at the University of Calif., and is a councilman of the Foreign Relations and Pacific Council of International Relations. He currently resides in Beverly Hills with his wife, Dr. Mary Turner Pattiz.
On an interview he had done, several questions were posed. Pattiz collaborated with Kit Gray to begin production on PodcastOne in the beginning stages. His typical day revolves around him involving himself in every aspect of his small business. Norman Pattiz named several people that influenced his views. Pattiz said that one strategy that helped his business become successful was being the first at work every morning and the last to leave every night. His heroes are his former, first boss in sales with media, Steve Ross and Bill Paley. Even though his heroes had passed already, everything that he gained from them is irreplaceable.
